to love a kitten
floor by floor
and door to door
Please,
would you adopt this kitty
and her mummy?
Little mind the bundle she bore
Little claws tearing what she wore
Little to imagine once it tore
Her heart revealed
in her eyes
those pools of liquid love
pouring out
soaking the fur
and drenching my soul..
Yet never quite
filling the hole
inside.
Until perhaps
in another life
when we're both cats.
